PACIFIC SEAFOOD HOSTS CHINESE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND SEAFOOD INDUSTRY REPRESENTATIVES

 

Visitors Tour Facility and Discuss Seafood Industry Management

 

 

Portland , Ore. – March 4, 2008 Pacific Seafood, a family owned seafood company based in Portland , Ore. , welcomed a group of Chinese government officials and seafood industry representatives on Friday, Feb. 29 for a facility tour and in-depth discussion regarding seafood industry management.  Pacific Seafood, which processes West Coast products - from Alaska to Mexico -, owns and operates distribution facilities throughout the western United States and is a leading U.S. importer and exporter of seafood, was selected to host the visitors and offer a forum to discuss west coast fisheries management and the opportunities and challenges for the international seafood industry. 

 

Pacific Seafood is honored to have hosted this important visit with such an esteemed group of representatives from China ,” said Frank Dulcich , president and CEO of Pacific Seafood Group. “ China is a growing market for many Oregon products and this gathering provided an engaging and educational platform to showcase what this state has to offer and learn how we can better partner for best international practices.”

 

Following a tour of Pacific Seafood’s industry-leading processing facility in Clackamas, attendees gathered for a presentation and Q&A regarding best practices in the industry and ensuring a healthy resource worldwide.  The visit concluded with a freshly prepared seafood lunch and open discussion.  Among the attendees were:
