SUMMARY

 

 

 

Purpose.........

Responsible for HR support for all and centralized employee relations issues

Scope............

Assist in the development and implementation of HR generalist functions and activities to include initiatives, compliance, Company policy and procedure, as well as local, state and federal regulations.

 

 

Required........

Must have excellent written communication and verbal skills. Must be able to work under stressful conditions at times and to meet unpredictable time demands.  Will possess strong analytical skills.  Must be highly organized, accurate and detail-oriented.  Must have working knowledge employment and workers’ compensation laws in all applicable states.  Excellent judgment is required in this position.  Ability to provide clear, direct and useful feedback.

 

DUTIES

Duties include but not limited to:

Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times

Investigate and respond to employee issues and concerns

 

Investigate and respond to unemployment claims, workers compensation issues, EEO administrative charges, wage and hour claims, public accommodation charges. 

 

Attend hearings and meetings, as needed

 

Advise and counsel department managers on all HR activities and issues

 

Work with Manager on employee development through training and assessment recommendations and activities

 

Make recommendations on training needs and improvement

 

Continually train, aid, counsel and directly support HR staff

 

Conduct analysis of employment trends and make appropriate recommendations to improve efficiency and HR operations

 

Assist with recruiting and staffing, as needed

 

Assist in the development of Human Resources manuals, forms, reports, etc.

 

Prepare necessary documentation for promotion, salary review or termination by obtaining necessary approval and ensuring subsequent action is taken

 

Makes recommendations on salary determinations and adjustments

 

Ensure specified offices are in compliance with HR policies and procedures

 

Assist team members with employee benefit plans, payroll, leave of absence and other Human Resources related actions

 

Inform Human Resources Manager of possible employee relations issues; makes recommendation on resolution.

 

Prepare Payroll on a Bi-Weekly basis.

 

Support Hiring Managers with new hire paperwork, orientation, and documentation.

 

Maintain OSHA Log.

 

Other duties and responsibilities as required by management

EDUCATION

 

Required........

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

EXPERIENCE

 

Required........

Three to four years previous experience in Human Resources.  Thorough knowledge and practical application of all HR disciplines, as well as federal and state employment practices. Must have the ability, as well as experience to interact with employees at all levels and consult effectively regarding all types of employment issues.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Usual.............

Typical office environment working with a PC, telephone, fax machine and copier.

Special...........
